Humble Beginnings
The story of SAMUICOCO began in late 2005 with a small family whose journey into the herbal and natural skincare business stemmed from a passion for traditional Thai remedies. Observing the effectiveness of herbal ingredients and the time-honored process of extracting coconut oil, this family took inspiration from Thailand’s rich botanical resources. Coconut oil, prized for its restorative properties, became the heart of their creations, blended with other Thai herbs to offer a balm that soothed aches, alleviated muscle soreness, and calmed joint pain. This endeavor was not only personal but a community effort, as they worked closely with a local cooperative women’s group in Eastern Thailand. Together, they crafted products that honored Thai scents and aimed to introduce the power of Thai herbs to the world.
Building Knowledge and Expertise
Relying on observation, traditional wisdom, and a deep respect for Thai medicine, the SAMUICOCO family committed themselves to extensive research and experimentation. Their creations first made a mark in Thailand, gaining recognition locally, and were soon exported to nearby Hong Kong. Between 2007 and 2013, they set out on a journey across Thailand, sharing their expertise on coldpressed coconut oil and its applications for improved well-being. As demand grew, they began integrating production technology to ensure consistency in quality, positioning their brand to meet the standards of an expanding market. During this period, SAMUICOCO’s cold-pressed coconut oil products quickly became household essentials, valued for their purity and effectiveness. With increasing demand, their research and development flourished, paving the way for a wider variety of products that addressed the needs of their growing customer base.
The Island Influence – Koh Phangan and Koh Samui
In 2010, SAMUICOCO’s journey led them to Koh Phangan and Koh Samui, two Thai islands celebrated for their unique coconut plantations. Here, coconuts were not only central to the islanders’ daily lives but also possessed qualities distinct from those grown elsewhere. Unlike most commercial coconut farms, the trees on these islands remained largely unaltered by high-yield farming practices. They were grown organically, nurtured with care, and the coconuts harvested here were cherished for their rich aroma and flavor. The islands’ isolation protected them from pollution and industrial influence, resulting in coconuts that thrived in the pure, nutrient-rich environment of Samui and Phangan. SAMUICOCO saw this as an opportunity to elevate their products’ quality and redefine skincare by harnessing the purity of these coconuts. As they delved deeper into the coconut farming culture of the islands, they began to understand the nuances that set these coconuts apart, from their organic growth practices to the distinct mineral-rich soil they grew in.

In 2013, SAMUICOCO entered a new chapter focused on skincare, utilizing the pristine coconut oil from Koh Samui as the foundation of their products. They began blending it with a range of herbs, further enhancing the oil’s beneficial properties.
